Finnish National Gallery - Art Collections

Ateneum Art Museum

Ateneum Art Museum is home to the largest and most important art collections in Finland. The museum governs over 20,000 works of art.

The museum collections are largely based on donations. The most significant of these is the Antell Collection, a testamentary donation by the collector H. F. Antell. More recently, many of the works have been purchased with government funding. The museum attempts to keep the centerpieces of its collection on permanent show. There will also be special exhibitions arranged of the collections.
